Pro stays bought — however you came by it, and whether or not the Store can be reached. Every fix here is about the watermark not reappearing on a feed you have already paid to keep clean.
Fixed
- Pro is now recognised when it was bought or redeemed outside the app. If you unlocked Pro with a gift or promotional code, bought it on the Store website, or already owned it on another PC, VirtualCamDesk could still treat you as a free user — leaving the watermark on the video going out to your meeting or stream. It now also asks the Microsoft Store directly what your account owns, so those unlocks are picked up.
- Pro no longer disappears when the Store can’t be reached. Opening the app offline, with the Store signed out, or while the Store is having problems used to put the watermark back. Your unlock is now remembered on this PC, and a check that can’t be completed is left alone rather than treated as “not bought”. A genuine refund still removes Pro.
- Buying Pro now removes the watermark straight away. A purchase could complete — you were charged and thanked — and the watermark would stay on, with the Upgrade button still showing, until the next launch.
- Upgrade now tells you what the Store said. If you already own Pro it says so instead of offering to sell it to you again; if the purchase can’t go ahead it explains why — including the common case where a code was redeemed with a different Microsoft account than the one the Store app is signed in to.

- Lowered the minimum supported Windows version from Windows 11 24H2 to Windows 11 22H2, validated end-to-end on a clean Windows 11 23H2 install — so VirtualCamDesk now runs on a wider range of Windows 11 PCs, not only the newest builds.
