Full release history and version notes for VirtualCamDesk — the virtual webcam for Windows 11 that exposes a screen, region, window, image or video file as a camera.
Version 1.0.3
Latest
June 2026
A small visibility tweak to the free-tier watermark.
Changed
- The free-tier watermark is now larger and centered on the feed so it’s clearly visible to your viewers. The one-time Pro upgrade removes it.
Version 1.0.2
First release
June 2026
First public release on the Microsoft Store.
Sources
- Use your screen, a custom screen region, a specific window, an image, or a video file as a webcam.
- Recent sources for quick switching; the last source is restored automatically next time you open the app.
Live feed
- Live preview of exactly what your viewers see.
- Start / Stop the camera and pause / resume the feed instantly.
- Output is 1280 × 720 at 30 FPS. Works in Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and the Windows Camera app.
Adjustments & overlays
- Image adjustments — brightness, contrast, saturation — plus mirror and flip.
- Overlays — add a logo, on-screen text, or a scrolling ticker.
App & hotkeys
- Global hotkeys:
F9 start / stop, F10 pause, F11 toggle preview.
- Minimize to the system tray so the camera stays available with the window closed.
- Optional launch at Windows startup and start minimized.
Pricing
- One-time Pro in-app purchase removes the free-tier watermark. Every feature is available in the free version.
Requirements
- Windows 11, version 24H2 (build 26100) or newer.
- A one-time administrator approval the first time you start the camera (registers the virtual camera with Windows).
