VirtualCamDesk – Turn Anything on Your Screen Into a Webcam

VirtualCamDesk lets you use your screen, a single window, a custom region, an image, or a video file as a webcam — in Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and the Windows Camera app. Pick a source, click Start camera, then choose VirtualCamDesk in your meeting app’s camera list. Live preview, color adjustments, mirror / flip and logo / text / scrolling-ticker overlays included — output is 1280×720 at 30 FPS.

Features

🖥️ Five Source Types

Your whole screen (any monitor or all of them), a custom region, a specific window (works even behind others), an image, or a looping video file — switched with a click.

👀 Live Preview

A built-in preview shows exactly what your viewers see — including any adjustments, overlays and (on the free tier) the watermark. Frame and check before you go live.

🎨 Color, Mirror & Flip

Drag sliders for brightness, contrast and saturation, mirror horizontally (selfie style), and flip vertically — all live, with a one-click reset.

🏷️ Logo, Text & Ticker Overlays

Compose a logo image into any corner, type on-screen text, or run a news-style scrolling ticker across the top or bottom — all baked into the actual camera output.

⌨️ Global Hotkeys

F9 start / stop the camera, F10 pause and resume the feed instantly (freezes on the current frame), F11 show / hide the preview — they work even when VirtualCamDesk isn’t the active window.

🪟 Quiet Tray App

Closing the window doesn’t quit — it keeps the camera available from the system tray. Optionally launch at Windows startup and start minimized.

🔗 Works in the Apps You Already Use

Picks up as a camera in Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, any browser-based video app in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, and the Windows Camera app. Output is fixed at 1280×720 at 30 FPS.

🔒 Local & Private

Runs entirely on your PC. Your feed goes only to the virtual camera you select in another app — nothing is uploaded, recorded or sent anywhere.

System Requirements: Windows 11, version 24H2 (build 26100) or newer. A one-time administrator approval is required the first time you start the camera (to register the virtual camera with Windows) — after that, starting it is instant.

Latest Release

Version 1.0.3 — June 2026

The free-tier watermark is now larger and centered on the feed so it’s clearly visible to your viewers — removed by the one-time Pro upgrade.
