Remotica

Changelog

Release notes for Remotica — the remote desktop (RDP) client for Android.

Version 0.2.0

Latest October 23, 2026

Found and fixed while testing every feature on a phone against a Windows 11 server — now under review on Google Play.

Added

  • Sessions stay connected in the background. While a session is open, a “Connected to <server>” notification with a Disconnect button keeps the connection alive when Remotica isn’t on screen. Remotica asks for notification permission the first time a session opens.
  • New app icon, in-app logo and notification icon.

Fixed

  • Double tap now double-clicks in Windows, at the first tap’s spot so a slightly moved finger still counts. Before, it arrived as a single click and opened nothing.
  • The Remotica drive always appears in This PC. It was sometimes missing when Windows reported the sign-in early, leaving \\tsclient\Remotica unreachable.
  • Typed text arrives exactly as typed. Fast typing could come out garbled (“from” became “mmmm”); keys are now sent in order, one at a time, and Space and Enter are sent as key codes.
  • Bluetooth and USB keyboards work right away, without opening the on-screen keyboard first, and every key goes to Windows instead of moving focus to the toolbar.
  • Windows no longer offers Sticky Keys while you type capitals and symbols.
  • Opening the file picker to upload no longer crashes the app.
  • The session no longer disconnects after a few seconds when another screen covers Remotica, such as the file picker or another app.
  • Text copied on the phone is sent to Windows when you reopen a running session from the server list, as well as when you return to the app.
  • The Save & connect button is no longer hidden behind the navigation bar: the server form is now a full page.
  • Fixed a crash on launch.

Changed

  • Colours match the new logo: buttons and accents use its blue with white text (a lighter blue for text in dark mode), the dark theme uses its navy, and new servers default to the logo blue.

Version 0.1.0

October 23, 2026

The first build.

Servers and security

  • Server cards for Windows PCs and servers: address, port, username, domain, saved password, screen size and colour. Add, edit, duplicate and delete.
  • Saved passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM under a non-exportable Android Keystore key and never backed up. Optional fingerprint, face or screen-lock prompt before opening a server.
  • Certificate check with “Trust always” or “Just this time”, and a sign-in prompt when no password is saved or it’s rejected.
  • Remotica Pro: the free version saves one server; Pro, prepaid monthly or yearly through Google Play, allows unlimited servers.

Sessions

  • Remote desktop to Windows PCs and servers over RDP.
  • Touch input: tap to click, long press or two-finger tap to right-click, drag to hold the left button, pinch to zoom, two-finger drag to scroll or pan, and a touchpad mode with an on-screen pointer.
  • Keyboard: on-screen keyboard, Esc, Tab, latching Ctrl, Alt and Win, arrows, Del, Home, End and F1–F12, and Ctrl+Alt+Del from the toolbar.
  • Remotica drive: a phone folder shown in Windows as “Remotica on <phone>”. Upload files from the phone, and save or share files that Windows copies there.
  • Text clipboard shared both ways between the phone and Windows.
  • Keep a session running behind the server list, reconnect after a drop, and light and dark themes.
