DriveDesk ("the App") is a vehicle service log and maintenance tracker developed by **BackendSide** ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.

**The short version:** DriveDesk stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

## 2. Information We Collect

**We do not collect any personal information.**

All data you enter into DriveDesk — including vehicle details, service records, costs, photos, reminders, and workshop information — is stored exclusively on your device using a local database. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export a backup file yourself.

## 3. Data Storage

- All app data is stored locally on your device using Android's Room database.
- App preferences (notification settings, distance unit, theme) are stored locally using Android DataStore.
- No data is stored on external servers, cloud services, or third-party systems.
- No account creation or login is required to use the App.

## 4. Backup & Restore

DriveDesk includes an optional backup feature that allows you to export your data as a file to a location of your choosing on your device. This backup file:

- Is created and controlled entirely by you
- Is stored wherever you choose (local storage, cloud storage apps like Google Drive, etc.)
- Is never automatically uploaded or accessed by us

If you choose to store your backup in a cloud service (e.g. Google Drive), that service's own privacy policy applies to that file.

## 5. Notifications & Reminders

The App may request permission to send local notifications for service reminders. These notifications:

- Are generated entirely on your device
- Do not involve any external server or third-party service
- Can be disabled at any time in your device Settings → Apps → DriveDesk → Notifications

## 6. Photos

Service record photos you attach within the App are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded anywhere.

## 7. Third-Party Services

DriveDesk does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services.

## 8. Children's Privacy

DriveDesk does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, the App is safe for all ages.

## 9. Permissions Used

| `READ_MEDIA_IMAGES` | To attach photos to service records |
| `READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` | To save and restore backup files (older Android versions) |

No permission is used for data collection or tracking.

## 10. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all app data at any time by:
- Going to **Settings → Apps → DriveDesk → Storage → Clear Data**, or
- Uninstalling the App

## 11. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the updated version will be posted at the URL you used to access this document. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
